Decadent New York trip 040208-110208 (略記)

旅程
飛越冰川山脈 (感謝神讓我看到莊麗的大自然) > Rue 57 decadent brunch > 5th avenue > American Folk Art Museum > Times Square > The New York Times Building > Chelsea Art Deco Galleries (Hans Haacke’s work ! 勁呀 !) > live music bar

> central park walking alone in the morning (what a nice ice skiing place!) > MOMA (my favour architect’s building, gorgeously harmony and spatial! 仲有 banner size Claude Monet 的名作water lily!!! ) > Brooklyn residential area > sunset 的 statue of liberty > sunset walk across brooklyn bridge with 18 degree! > downtown ground zero > expensive sushi (actually not that good but still have to say “good”) > live music of a female singer with sexy voice in bar (cool ! good stuff !)

> grand central terminal concourse (fool around with the sound transmition of the vault) > P.S.1 MOMA > China Town in lunar Chinese new year (although the atmosphere of the parade is very good and beautiful, I can hardly enjoy it…donno why. Being a Chinese Ambassador, I brought 14 foreigners to have dim sum in a restaurant like mei sum with pulling trolley. I am glad that they enjoy the food and the “special” environment) > Storefront for Art and Architecture Gallery > Tendament House Museum ( I quite enjoy the tour cos I have chance to see the local old building in New York) > Sejima’s New Museum of Contemporary Art ( not that amazing)

> German Chocolate Cake with Jumbo Juice as Brunch > Norman Foster’s Hearst Tower (the beautiful and harmony detailing which you can’t believe it is his work. Subtle fountain landscape, lift core material, corridor, 360 degree panoramic view of NYC at top floor ~~~cool~~~good stuff ! amazing!) > Visit an arch firm in an industrial building > Chelsea pier and sea > Frank Gery’s IAC building (so nice is the façade material !) > Bar, bar and bar

> Nice Irish Pancake brunch in a place called Public with Tutor and Mabel and tried the super fresh beef burger that I never had before (no doubt Polly and Alan like burger so much before)! > Ground Zero again > Shopping in Century 21> Herzog’s new apartment house > Times Square again and hanging around in M&M and Hershey’s Chocolate store (so fun!) > Saturday night high table dinner (expensive with not much thing ate) > Bar again

> Very grand restaurant inside the Central Park for brunch (risotto and New York Cheesecake! Oh it was so great !) > Never think of there is a gentleman who is Mabel’s client drove us travel around Manhattan and pay everything for us! > we went to Guggenheim Museum, Little Italy, SOHO, China Town, then to JFK Airport > End of the trip snowing !!!

Food
Hot dog, don nut, Googe Cheese Burger, NY cheesecake…all are so good
Spend around HKD3500 just on food for 6 days….
Learned different types of cocktail mix from Gemma (mojito, martini with lemonade, cosmo…)
I just donno why foreigner are willing to spend so much money on drink !

Friends
Sex and the City traveling group (Gemma, Carrie, Anna, Natasha and I)
Particularly make friend and chat with Gemma and Natasha
All my unitmates are very nice and funny
Thanks Mabel to travel all the way from LA to NYC just to stay with me for one and a half day
Mabel’s comment: 又話無靚仔靚女, 個個都好OK boo! 希臘女神最靚 (I agree)

Movies on the plane
Elizabeth the golden age, Paprika (Japanese movie talking about the mixing of dream and reality, quite nice film), Brick Lane, Atonement (James Mcavoy is super handsome, the main actresses are very beautiful and elegant as well !)

Regret
I can’t find again the “Ghost” perfume which I saw once in Heathrow Airport
Didn’t have a long walk along the whole middle part of the central park
Didn’t visit museum more enough
Can’t buy the big bag and boots nice enough

What I have brought finally
A nice purple rabbit hair hat (I got so many hat now!)
Ralph Lauren perfume (although I have already got one in HK)
Make up
So chocolate as gift…umum nothing else! How come!
